Today is 9th May 2014, a month right before the president election day of Indonesia. I'm 18 years old and this year will be the first time for me to use my right to participate in the president election.
The final candidates for 2014 president election hasn't been released yet, but there are names that have always been mentioned related to the next president election in Indonesia. The strongest between some of the presidential candidates are Mr. Joko Widodo (well-known as Mr. Jokowi) from PDIP and Mr. Prabowo Subianto (Mr. Prabowo) from GERINDRA. Mr. Jokowi has a very good reputation because of his persistence in working as a governor of Jakarta. He often directly comes to the work field to minotor the project that is going on. He also known for his low-profile. On the other side, Mr. Prabowo is well-known for his assertiveness and he also has a strong charisma in front of the citizens of Indonesia.
For this year's president election, maybe i would like to choose Mr. Prabowo Subianto. To be honest, i haven't been so sure about my choice whether to choose Mr.Prabowo or Mr.Jokowi. But for now, i want Mr.Jokowi to finish his work first, as a governor of DKI. Jakarta. I think he could be the strongest candidate on the next president election on 2019 if he finishes well his job as a governor of Jakarta. There are still many projects that haven't been finished in order to give Jakarta residents a better facilities and even a better life, so i want Mr.Jokowi to finish those projects first before becoming a president. And I think maybe Mr.Prabowo with his assertiveness could make a big change for Indonesia because there are still weaknesses in various systems in Indonesia.
